Nuestra obra aborda los resultados del contacto dialectal de dos variedades mutuamente inteligibles del español: la variedad hablada por hablantes de clase media de la ciudad de Málaga (España) y la variedad hablada en Buenos Aires (Argentina) en contexto de inmigración. Centramos nuestro análisis en un grupo de inmigrantes argentinos residentes en Málaga (n = 72) y describimos cómo organizan sus patrones lingüísticos y cómo reajustan su variedad de origen, adaptando o acomodándose a la variedad de la comunidad receptora. Concluimos que la acomodación depende de lo siguiente: (a) factores lingüísticos (jerarquía de la adquisición y complejidad de reglas), (b) factores relacionados con las características biográficas y mesosociales de los inmigrantes (medidos a través de una `Escala de Acomodación'), (c) factores estilísticos (origen del entrevistador). Además, los inmigrantes exhiben `estilos de comportamiento adaptativo' que emergen de características biográficas, mesosociales y experiencias vitales similares y permiten a los hablantes monitorizar o acomodar los rasgos más `salientes' de sus variedades y proyectar su identidad.

Im Mittelpunkt dieser Longitudinalstudie steht die Frage danach, wie eine Kollokationskompetenz bei fortgeschrittenen DaF-Lernenden aufgebaut werden kann. Kollokationskompetenz schließt neben der Internalisierung und dem angemessenen Gebrauch von Kollokationen ebenso die Entwicklung einer Kollokations(lern)bewusstheit und eines Kollokationsbewusstseins ein. Auf der Grundlage umfangreicher empirischer Daten werden u.a. Aussagen zum Einfluss der Unterrichtsgestaltung auf die Entwicklung dieses besonderen Teilbereiches lexikalischer Kompetenz sowie zu den individuellen Faktoren gemacht, die das Lerntempo bestimmen. Die Studie macht deutlich, dass der Aufbau einer fremdsprachigen Kollokationskompetenz ein mühsamer und langwieriger Prozess ist, für den eine explizite Arbeit an Kollokationen von großer Bedeutung ist.

This book provides an account of the structure of A-bar constructions, focusing on wh-questions and fragment answers in Dagbani, a Mabia (Gur) language spoken in Northern Ghana. It demonstrates that Dagbani wh-phrases occur in two distinct positions, ex-situ and in-situ, except for subject wh-phrases, which only occur in the former position. It provides a theoretical analysis of the distribution of the wh-phrases couched within minimalism (Chomsky 1995). Finally, the book gives an account of the structural correlation between wh-questions and their answers with the focus on the syntactic derivation of fragment answers. The author contends that the derivation of fragment answer involves two processes: A-bar movement together with PF-deletion

Diminutive constructions in English provides an analysis of form and meaning of English diminutives with selected suffixes and suffix combinations: -let, -ling, -ette, -er+ -s, -kin + -s, and -ie+ -kin +-s. The empirical study is done within the framework of Construction Grammar, Construction Morphology as depicted by Geert Booij (2010; 2013), and a Construction-Grammar-based approach to translation proposed by Izabela Szymanska (2011). On the basis of an exhaustive corpus of language material, the author proposes new schemas for English diminutives and related formations. Moreover, the work provides supporting evidence for the distinction of analytic A + N constructions as a valid type of diminutive formation in the English language.

Weiterhin wird aufgezeigt, dass § 179a AktG keine analoge Anwendung auf die OHG und KG findet und die Liquidatoren das von der Gesellschaft betriebene Unternehmen verkaufen knnen. Im Innenverhältnis ist ein zustimmender Gesellschafterbeschluss mit wenigstens einfacher Mehrheit erforderlich. Diese Ergebnisse werden unter Berücksichtigung der gängigen juristischen Auslegungsmethodik und insbesondere einer historischen Auslegung hergeleitet.

Mapping the Discussion on Leadership Spirituality: With a Critical Evaluation of References to Christian Spirituality

The emergence in the last two and a half decades of the concept of leadership spirituality is a further indication of the increasing need for a more critical, inspired, and ethically responsible leadership. In order to illuminate this most striking new focal point in contemporary leadership theory and literature, this work aims to critically map the contemporary scientific literature on the subject, with a special focus on the valuation of Christian spirituality. Three key issues engage our attention: the emergence of spirituality in the leadership discourse; the inclusion or exclusion of spirituality from the Christian tradition(s) in that discourse; and the valuation of the particular contribution Christian spirituality can make in this context. In this regard our focus will be on the Catholic tradition. The final objective is to clarify in the perspective of scholars belonging to the Catholic tradition how the practice of Christian spirituality contributes to taking moral responsibility and to moral integrity. As such this work is a case and a building stone for a broader investigation on the link between ethics and spirituality in business.
Answering fundamental questions about spirituality in leadership, the work establishes a link between spirituality and self-assessment. As such, it establishes that the reasons spirituality is valued in Leadership are more fundamental and not merely utilitarian (references to more efficient work or better economic results). Drawing critical insights from scholars the work does an indepth examination of the Catholic traditions (focusing on the Benedictine, Ignatian, and Opus Dei orders) and makes a case for how the practice of spirituality help with taking moral responsibility and for moral integrity. It shows how the Christian traditions represent not a static but transformative vision. This way the work becomes, therefore, a case and a building stone for a broader investigation on the link between ethics and spirituality in business. Spirituality takes us beyond that which we see. It, therefore, tells us that something lies beyond the usefulness of what we value; and that gaining rational control over all things is not all there is to being "good". Drawing on the huge insights and power of the language of scriptures and insights from moral imagination and contemplation, the work shows how we can move from being personally positively affected (from "being good") to becoming "good leaders". That implies, above all, understanding not only our lives but also leadership as an experience of transcendence; and that Christian spirituality is a transformative experience. -

The project examines the reasons for the many philosophical difficulties, and the failures, that Nietzsche sensed when he had concluded The Birth of Tragedy. The subsequent philosophical decision he made, on the way to reconceiving the classical ideas of tragedy, destiny, and martyrdom, allowed him to begin to conceive of what he would identify as a thinking devoted to affirmation. Everything he commits himself to writing after 1872, including the unpublished notes on myth from the Philosophenbuch, is a response to the disillusionment of his belief in Dionysos and the false promise of tragic affirmation. The Greek god had become a problem and an obstacle. Sustaining him, as a philosophical idea, was going to prove to be highly mixed; the struggle would become relentless. The Greek god is, in many ways, impossible to believe in as an ideal, in antiquity or for the present; and for a specific reason: the connection between the institution of the Dionysian festival and the religious ritual of sacrifice could not be ignored by Nietzsche. His sense of a "Dionysian nausea" has been overlooked. Tragedy and sacrifice are a binding relation in the Greek polis. Nietzsche seems to recognize the fact and commits himself to directly confronting the tragedy/sacrifice relation in all his subsequent works and with the intent on being a unique, individual resource for the truth of his self-revelations. He identifies himself with a new conception of the martyr (the witness) in order to provide an alternative to the classical martyr as the victim of violence and death and who, moreover, is executed by the state. Socrates and Jesus are omni-present for him. Nietzsche presents himself as new world-historical alternative and the self-revelations of a witness for the individuals he will often call (especially in Thus Spoke Zarathustra) his friends and neighbours and disciples. Is the whole of his philosophical enterprise successful? Do his self-revelations lead to the creation of the free spirit and therefore give him some assurance about the future of his legacy? Or does his commitment to the eternal recurrence, for example, lead him to a terrible realization? The study presents the force of Nietzsche's thought as he created the resources, which he hoped could be effectively transferred to a reader, to begin to create an affirmative reality he defines from out of the fullness of the free spirit and the philosopher.

At the beginning of the 21st century, there are an increasing number of states in which elections do not meet the standards of liberal democracy due to electoral malpractices. The analysis of the malpractices at all stages of the electoral cycle and their impact on the political regime is the primary objective of this book. The research focuses on Turkey. Im Jahre 1904 schreibt der junge Stefan Zweig zum ersten Mal an die von ihm verehrte Schwedin Ellen Key. Sie ist über 50, Zweig ist 23 Jahre alt. Es entwickelt sich ein fast 20 Jahre dauernder, vertrauensvoller Briefwechsel.
In diesen Briefen spiegelt sich zunächst die Entwicklung des jungen Dichters wider, später vor allem ungläubiges Entsetzen, als die kulturell verbundenen Menschen und Nationen Europas mit Ausbruch des Ersten Weltkrieges zu Feinden werden.
Ab 1915 wird in der Korrespondenz zwischen Zweig und Key deutlich, dass Resignation an Raum gewinnt. Der Krieg als humanitäre Katastrophe und Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit lässt den Glauben an die Kraft von Literatur und Kunst schwinden.
Beide kämpfen aber weiter mit der Schreibfeder für den Frieden und warnen in Wort und Schrift vor Radikalisierung. Sie hoffen weiter, dass ein menschliches Gewissen mittels Sprache nachhaltig angerührt werden kann. -

The book addresses the relationship between the literary representations of North Greenland and the Inughuit people in Knud Rasmussen's expedition accounts The New People and My Travel Diary and the historical process of Danish colonization of North Greenland. The aim of reading both works is to demonstrate the ambivalence in representing North Greenland and the Inughuit, and, through this, to prove the existence of common mechanisms and cultural practices connected to mapping of the Other in a situation of asymmetric power relations. Applying a textual approach founded on colonial discourse analysis, the reading proves that literary mappings of geography and identity can never be stable, as they are in the state of constant transformation, perpetually recontextualized and reinvented.
